Six New EV Charging Stations in White Plains

On March 26 the City opened six new electric vehicle charging stations at the Chester-Maple Garage. Mayor Roach said, “This is a great day for the City of White Plains. The installation of six electric vehicle fast chargers at the Chester-Maple parking garage is a significant step in the right direction to advancing New York State’s transition to clean transportation."


"The City is working on many projects that will improve air quality throughout the City: creating a bike lane network; expanding the City’s electric vehicle fleet; and, of course, building out the City’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure that will make it convenient for residents, business owners and visitors to own an electric vehicle.”


The City of White Plains currently offers twenty-eight publicly accessible level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in parking structures and lots throughout the City. 

They are located in the following public parking locations: 

  • Lexington-Grove East Garage (100 Main St.) - 3 chargers
  • Lexington-Grove West Garage (100 Main St.) - 2 chargers
  • Hamilton-Main Garage (365 Hamilton Ave.) - 3 chargers
  • Longview-Cromwell Garage (11 Longview Ave.) - 2 chargers
  • Lyon Place Garage (5 Lyon Place) - 2 chargers
  • Shapham Place Parking Lot (17 Shapham Place) - 2 chargers
  • Chester-Maple Garage (9 Chester Ave.) - 3 chargers
  • Library Garage (100 Martine Ave.) - 3 chargers
  • TransCenter Garage (11 Ferris Ave.) - 8 chargers

EV customers pay $1.75/hour, which covers both parking and electricity, through the normal payment process at the garage pay stations. For an additional $30 a month permit holders are permitted to utilize the EV chargers.
