White Plains Public Library Black History Month StoryWalk featuring Molly, By Golly!: The Legend of Molly Williams, America's First Female Firefighter by Dianne Ochiltree & Kathleen Kemly. The StoryWalk will be available for viewing in the Library’s Gallery through February 28.
Wednesday, February 8, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm -- Back to Motown Party at the White Plains Community Center, 65 Mitchell Place. Lunch, DJ music, dancing, and a special presentation by musicologist, John Waller. Reservations required. $3 for 60+, $6 for others. Call 914-422-1423 to register.
Saturday, February 18 at 3:00 pm-- Afro-Fusion Dance Performance with Amanda Armenteros. For all ages at the White Plains Public Library. First, children will hear a reading of Firebird by ballet dancer Misty Copeland. Followed by Amanda Armenteros, a member of the Afrobeats dance troupe. The dance troupe combines modern dance with traditional African rhythms. Register today! |
