The City of White Plains (“the City”) Department of Planning, Community Development (“CD”) Program, is soliciting public input on the development of the 2022-2023 Annual Action Plan. White Plains is a designated U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) entitlement community and is required to develop an Action Plan annually. The Annual Action Plan describes the City’s proposed use of approximately $950,000 in projected new federal funds for FY 2022-23 under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Actual funding depends upon official notification from HUD. The primary objective of the CDBG program is the development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low- and moderate-income.  

The City will release the public service program application for FY 2022-2023 CDBG funds on Friday, December 3, 2021 and will accept applications until 4:00 pm on Friday, January 14, 2022. Applicants are required to attend a Virtual Pre-Application Workshop on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 1:00 pm or on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 am. The same content will be presented at both workshops - only attend one. Instructions to register for the virtual workshop are posted on the City's website at cityofwhiteplains.com/CommunityDevelopment.
