The Planning Department’s Community Development Rehabilitation program helps preserve residential neighborhoods by providing financial assistance for roofing, plumbing, heating, siding, or handicapped accessibility for “income-eligible” homeowners. The program is supported by a grant from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, which has provided over $14 million to facilitate the rehabilitation of over 1,700 single family homes and over 3000 multi-family dwelling units in White Plains. The Planning Department is pleased to offer assistance with financing, as well as supporting participants through all phases of the rehabilitation process. For more information or to inquire about participating, contact the Planning Department at (914) 422-1300 or www.cityofwhiteplains/communitydevelopment.
