Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update for Residents May 15, 2020

The number of people who have tested positive in the county is 31,943. The county currently estimates the number of active cases in the county to be 2711. The cumulative number of people who have tested positive in White Plains since testing began is 1694.The county estimates the number of active cases in White Plains to be 131.

The Governor has lifted the ban on tennis with the requirement that it be limited to singles only, and that there be no amenities available. We have arranged with the school district to make tennis available at the high school by reservation only - starting Sunday. The reservations must be made with the White Plains Recreation and Parks Dept, there is no charge for this use. For further information refer to the city website.

The Farmer’s Market is on the way back! We are working to be open May 27th on Court St. with capacity restrictions and social distancing and masks required. We will have more information available on Monday’s call.

It is May 15 which means as of 6PM the use of gasoline powered leaf blowers is illegal in White Plains until October 1. Please report violations by calling the police non-emergency line at 422-6111.

We have come a long way and our progress has been wholly and solely due to the actions of all of you in following the guidelines and restrictions put in place. By continuing to do so, we show our respect and concern for each other. We don’t wear masks for ourselves, I wear my mask for you and you wear your mask for me.
