Seal - gold and blue

Dear Residents:

Today’s Update:  4/20/2020

New York state now has 247,512 positive cases.  The total number tested in Westchester is 73,340; the number of people who have tested positive in the county is 24,306. The county estimates the number of active cases is 10,008. There are currently 1,089 Westchester residents who are hospitalized in the County. There are approximately 3000 hospital beds in the county. The number of people who have tested positive and reside at addresses within the City of White Plains is 1010 according to data provided by the county.

Today the City of WP provided 400 bags of groceries at the Youth Bureau at Eastview School.  Thank you to DPW, the Youth Bureau, Sam’s of Gedney Way, and the many volunteers who came out to lend a hand.  The YB will be doing another distribution tomorrow at 10:00 am. Would you like to volunteer to help your community? Please email volunteer@whiteplainsny.gov

As a reminder, individuals with symptoms of COVID-19 which include fever, cough, and congestion can walk in to be tested at White Plains Hospital Emergency Department.

In today’s call with local officials County Executive Latimer indicated that it can now be definitively stated we are in the plateau phase with regard to the virus. We got here because of our compliance with the social distancing protocols and we will continue down a positive track as long as we continue to abide by them. And yes I will keep saying this every time I call because it’s important. Together, as a community, we are saving lives.

If you have recovered from the coronavirus, you are

encouraged to donate your plasma. Please see the NY blood center’s

website at: https://nybc.org to fill out the donor request form. The demand is high and you may save a life.

As was mentioned last week, we will now be doing scheduled robocalls Monday Wednesday and Friday unless circumstances warrant otherwise. Remember we are standing together by staying apart!
